Boxer Mom Adopts Injured Baby Bird And Raises It As Her Own

A little baby chick named Birdie (how perfect of a name) is now calling Rusty, a two-year old Boxer, her mommy, according to ITV News.

After falling out of her nest and injuring her wings, the little bird was taken care of by Rusty and nursed back to health. Rusty even let the little bird ride around on his back while she was unable to walk.

The videos, posted online by Rusty’s owner, 34-year-old Jurgita Peciulaityte, have been a viral hit, getting millions of views from people who were amazed at the bird/Boxer friendship.

But what might seem like an exhausting experience for newly adopted bird-mom Rusty has actually been rewarding. In all the videos, Rusty dotes over Birdie as if she was his own. And in case you’re wondering how the bird is doing now, according to Peciulaityte, the bird is flying again and has a temporary indoor nest.

We wouldn’t be surprised if little Birdie soon trades in her chirping for barking!
