These Pups Used To Be Homeless, Now They’re Total Spotlight Hoggers — And People Love It

When John Misita was given a homeless dog by a friend, he had no idea how his life would be changed.

Now, he heads a troupe of rescued pups that travel around the country wowing crowds everywhere with their show, K-9s in Flight. The group has been featured on The Discovery Channel, ESPN, The Disney Channel, Animal Planet, HBO, MTV and the National Geographic to name a few.

Wanting to raise awareness and showcase the talents of adopted and rescued pups, he and trainer Gail Mirabella train dogs to show off their skills with Frisbees, discs, high jumping and dock diving. Recently they pawformed at the National Peanut Festival, where they completely played to their audience.

“They totally thrive off of the crowd’s clapping and cheering. When we’re performing, they jump higher, they run faster than when we’re just practicing,” Mirabella told The Dothan Eagle.

High paws to this troupe for knowing how to wow ’em and send a great message at the same time! For more on the K-9s in Flight, check out their website!
