Last week, we reported that Moe had found a foster home, but we have even better news now. Moe and his human Timothy Lucas have found a temporary home together! This will allow Lucas to find a job and get back on his feet.
We’re so happy to report that Moe has found a foster home! We’ll provide further updates as we get more information.
West Lafayette, Indiana, resident Timothy Lucas and his dog Moe have been homeless for about two weeks. While Lucas has found shelter and support at Lafayette Transitional Housing Center, he’s worried about where his pooch Moe will sleep.
LTHC is currently at capacity, but the center’s executive director, Jennifer Layton, says:
We still work with people in helping them find other housing that will meet their needs. But there’s no room in the inn for any canines, so Lucas is hoping someone in the community will take care and shelter Moe just for the winter.
Lucas is looking for a job, but having a hard time since he has nowhere to put Moe during the day. He just needs a little help getting back on his feet so he can take care of his best friend. He wants to build a stable life for himself, and for Moe, but he needs a foster family to help provide that stability for his dog until he is able to do it himself.
Lucas says that Moe is all he has left:
He keeps me from being unstable and getting depressed.”
We just want to have the opportunity to stand on our own two feet. And once we do that, we can start giving back to the community the way the community has helped us.

LTHC case worker Lisa Yates says that Lucas and Moe are two of her favorite clients.
Every dog, and human, deserves this chance.
