The world-famous Iditarod sled-dog race is missing a major component this year: snow. Kinda makes the whole sledding thing difficult no?
Not to worry, Iditarod enthusiasts. The race isn’t cancelled, but the route has been changed (for only the second time in its 42-year-history). The race will start in Willow in lieu of its traditional Fairbanks location in order to avoid boulder and debris once hidden by snow that now block the racers’ path. However, if you are worried about that hefty temperature increase, visit the Environmental Protection Agency’s page on climate change where you can learn what you can do to help.
