UPDATE: Secret Service Pups Catch White House Fence Jumper

***Updated with pictures of Hurricane and Jordan and details at 5:12 p.m.

Two Secret Service dogs earned their stripes last night.

At 7:16 p.m. on Wednesday night, a man jumped the White House fence and ran 30 yards on the lawn towards the building. However, pooches Hurricane and Jordan were on the job. As seen in the video below, they were able to catch the man. Although he kicked and punched violently at them, the two pups were able to detain him until the human Secret Service agents caught up to surround and arrest him.

The jumper, later identified as Dominic Adesanya, was quickly taken into custody. Edwin Donovan, spokesperson for the Secret Service, told the Washington Post no shots were fired.

Hurricane and Jordan were treated by a vet for any possible injuries. They were fine, and cleared to go back on duty today.

As the Secret Service released today, Hurricane is 6 and enjoys playing with his Kong, while Jordan, 5, likes walks around the White House the best.

We’re glad the pups are ok after their heroic actions, and hope they got lots of treats as a reward! Bo Obama, you’re in good company 🙂
