**Original Story**

The Champions, directed by Darcy Dennett, is a beautiful and heartrending documentary about the Pit Bulls from Michael Vick’s dog-fighting ring. It recounts the vicious abuse that went on inside Vick’s compound, the fight to not euthanize the animals, and the adopters, who are able to provide the protection, comfort, and love the dogs so greatly deserve.

The official synopsis reads, “It is a story of second-chances, redemption and hope. This uplifting documentary takes us on a journey about much more than just dogs—about prejudice, being misunderstood, the power of resilience, and the significance of the relationship we as humans have with animals.”

The documentary, awarded Official Selection at film festivals across the country, reaffirms that while Vick may have been forgiven for his brutality, these awe-inspiring “champions,” who finally know what it means to be unbeaten, will not be forgotten.
