This past weekend, April and Brandon Gourley’s home caught on fire. Neither the couple, nor any of their four children were home, but their beloved Bouvier named Sampson was in the house.
Neighbors called 911 and looked on in horror, as many of them suspected that the pooch was still inside.
According to Jimmy Nichols, the most amazing thing happened next:
“This guy in a grey Mustang pulls up, says, ‘I do this for a living,’ and he runs in and he comes out about two minutes later with this beautiful dog in his arms, and it was incredible to see.”
Watch the harrowing rescue footage caught on camera:
Moments later, after the stranger and Sampson fled the home, the roof collapsed. The real life action hero almost remained a man of mystery, because he drove off without leaving his name. However, he has been identified as Tim Tawater, a Springfield firefighter who was off-duty during the time of the fire.
We’re so grateful to Tim for putting his life on the line for this pup! High paws!
