In my humble opinion, there is nothing more sad in the life of a beloved dog than to be surrendered simply because the circumstances necessitate it. A gorgeous 120-pound Rottweiler named Rambo now sits in Pequannock Animal Shelter in New Jersey, quickly deteriorating with no family left.
He was a much-adored pup for his human, a veteran who tragically passed three years ago after returning from deployment. His parents took Rambo in as sweet reminder of their son. Unfortunately, the mother is unable to walk the big boy, and the father has fallen ill and will not be able to walk Rambo for at least nine months.
As much as it breaks their hearts to give him up, they agree that Rambo deserves a chance at a home who can give him the best life possible. We know Rambo’s soldier would never want this for him, and he really needs a rescue.
This gentle giant is six-years-old, up-to-date on his vaccinations, has been neutered, and passed his Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors.
No one wants to see Rambo left alone at the shelter; he needs a strong human and an active family to thrive and heal. Please share his story, and if you would like to inquire about Rambo please contact the Pequannock Animal Shelter at 973-835-3980 and ask for Amber or Carmen.
